COVID-19 Protocols

To ensure your safety during COVID 19 restrictions we have taken extra measures to help ensure everyone is protected and have implemented a number of new operational procedures.

– Doctor Appointments will be 1 hour apart

–Optical Services will be provided by appointment only. No walk-in service.

-Your guests must remain outside the building. If you require assistance, you may bring one guest with you.

-Every person entering the office will be required to wear a face mask or covering

–Additional Acrylic guards are in place where possible

-Every person entering the office will be required to use hand sanitizer

-Staff and doctor will be wearing clean scrubs or lab jacket

-The office and exam room and all equipment are disinfected after every patient

–Staff working with you will be washing or sanitizing their hands before helping you.

Here are details of what to expect:

AFTER BOOKING YOUR EXAM:

Upon booking your eye exam, we will arrange a time to contact you by phone one day prior to your appointment to go over your medical and ocular history as well as eye-related symptoms you may be experiencing.

We will also be asking screening questions related to COVID-19. Should you have any symptoms of COVID-19, such as coughing sneezing, fever, or feel unwell, please let us know and we can re-schedule your appointment.

Please set aside 10-15 minutes for this phone call.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

When you arrive for your appointment, please call our office and wait in the car. As we clean and sanitize after each patient, we want to make sure the office is ready for you. We will call to let you know when it is safe for you to come in. We will also be asking you Covid 19 screening questions. Patients who are at high risk for spreading COVID will be asked to reschedule

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

Everyone entering the office is required wear face protection/mask-Hand sanitizer provided at the front dest must be used upon entering-Please come alone or have only one person accompany you if you need assistance.- Please bring in your eye glasses you are currently using. If you currently wear contact lenses, please remove them prior to your appointment. Bring in a pair of your contacts should you need to update your contact lens prescription and make sure to bring in the boxes of your current contacts.

YOUR EYE EXAM

During your eye exam, Dr. Mona will be wearing a mask and in some instances, a face shield as certain tests require close distances. Your eyes may be dilated using eye drops. Please bring a pair of sunglasses as your eyes will be sensitive to light following the dilation. If you have had trouble driving in the past after being dilated, please bring a driver or let us know and Dr. Mona can dilate you at a second visit.

AFTER THE EXAM

We will be more than happy to help you with selecting new glasses (our favourite part!). There will be a tray available for you to place any frames that you try on so that we may sanitize them after your visit. You may remove your mask while trying on frames!

WHEN YOU LEAVE US

Used pens are disinfected. Exam lanes are scrubbed down before the next patient. Frames touched will be sent to disinfection. Optical tables, chairs, and equipment will be disinfected. All other touched surfaces will be disinfected. All employees working with you will wash their hands.
